Elizabeth Schmidt

A native Californian, Elizabeth Schmidt performed in the Bay Area for ten years growing up and was awarded the Governor Arts Scholar Medallion for Dramatic Arts when she was sixteen.

She graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University's theatre program, where she performed in such productions as Hedda Gabler (Hedda), Picnic (Rosemary), Company (Joanne), and All My Sons (Ann).

After moving to New York, Elizabeth worked steadily, primarily in theatre. Her New York credits include Men Are Pigs (Girlfriend) Off Broadway at the Lion Theatre/Theatre Row. Regionally, Elizabeth appeared as Miranda in The Tempest at the California Shakespeare Theatre, directed by Lillian Groag, to much acclaim. She originated the role of Lucy in the world premiere of Mark Healy’s play Dracula: Lord of the Undead at the Fulton Theatre in Pennsylvania, and played Shelby in Steel Magnolias at the Mountain Playhouse. She also recurred on As the World Turns and acted in many independent films.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Elizabeth has performed in readings and productions at the La Jolla Playhouse, Gary Marshall Theatre, Sacred Fools, and Theatre 40. She has worked steadily in television, film, and commercials, selling everything from paper towels to cars to insurance! Elizabeth has also written and produced work, including her award-winning web series Infinity Strategists. She's also exceptionally proud of the theatre she helped co-found and is the current co-artistic director of-- InHouse Theatre, which specializes in intimate and immersive, site-specific contemporary and classic work in Los Angeles.

Elizabeth lives in the Miracle Mile with her wonderful and supportive husband and daughter, who always keep her on her toes!
